5 of the best ways to protect your wellbeing

When you’re feeling down or anxious, don’t be afraid to talk to your friends, family members or guardians about your emotions.
Reach out to others if you need them – a quick chat with someone who knows how to cheer you up could brighten your day.
  1. Keep moving! Try to stay healthy through regular exercise – it works wonders for your mental health. Take walks, bike rides or even spare a few moments for a morning stretch.

When times get hard, focus on the present moment and practice mindfulness. Take notice of how you or your friends seem to feel, tune in to your surroundings to help you stay grounded, and breathe deeply to achieve a sense of calm.
  1. In life, we never stop learning! Try to engage your mind as much as you can – not only will you be picking up a handy new skill, it’ll boost your confidence too.

And finally, give. Random acts of kindness will make both you and others around you feel great! Take part in a social action project, volunteer, phone a friend or family member – the opportunities are endless. What will you give today?

You strum away on your harps like David and improvise on musical instruments.
- Amos 6:5

Focus on how you can help and benefit your student.

“Original and with an innate understanding of their student’s needs, the team at Love Music are always a pleasure to work with.”

Sunhee has been teaching several decades and conducted youth orchestra. She loves every genre of arts and wanted to contribute her talents to  communities near and far. She earned her master degree in music from Ucla.

People around the world and throughout history have used music to express their inner emotions, reach out to the divine, woo lovers, celebrate weddings, inspire political movements, and lull babies to sleep. In Music as Social Life, Thomas Turino explores why it is that music and dance are so often at the center of our most profound personal and social experiences.
Turino begins by developing tools to think about the special properties of music and dance that make them fundamental resources for connecting with our own lives, our communities, and the environment. These concepts are then put into practice as he analyzes various musical examples among indigenous Peruvians, rural and urban Zimbabweans, and American old-time musicians and dancers. To examine the divergent ways that music can fuel social and political movements, Turino looks at its use by the Nazi Party and by the American civil rights movement. Wide-ranging, accessible to anyone with an interest in music’s role in society, and accompanied by a compact disc, Music as Social Life is an illuminating initiation into the power of music.
